After re-reading the fine print in the Vanna's Choice contest rules, I realized that if you win using an original pattern, the design becomes property of Lion Brand and Michael's. I definitely don't want to give up the rights to my patterns, so no contest for me...
Instead, I spent the weekend finishing up my 5th RENT doll: Mimi
I can't stop looking at her boots and thinking they look like chocolate chip cookies, but I don't think there's a better way to try and replicate the spots. ;) She'll be listed in my Etsy shop when I have more time and more photos.

Vanna's Choice Contest
I'm thinking about entering this contest: http://www.vannaschoice.com/
I'd have to adapt one of my designs into something non-RENT, and I'm not sure what would be a good direction to take things. I also have no idea what other kinds of things people submitting, so I wonder if anything I could come up with would even compare... I've never entered a craft contest of any sort, so it might be fun. Too bad my anniversary dolls were made completely out of other kinds of yarn. :)
