After re-reading the fine print in the Vanna's Choice contest rules, I realized that if you win using an original pattern, the design becomes property of Lion Brand and Michael's. I definitely don't want to give up the rights to my patterns, so no contest for me...

Instead, I spent the weekend finishing up my 5th RENT doll: Mimi

I can't stop looking at her boots and thinking they look like chocolate chip cookies, but I don't think there's a better way to try and replicate the spots. ;) She'll be listed in my Etsy shop when I have more time and more photos.

Vanna's Choice Contest

I'm thinking about entering this contest:

I'd have to adapt one of my designs into something non-RENT, and I'm not sure what would be a good direction to take things. I also have no idea what other kinds of things people submitting, so I wonder if anything I could come up with would even compare... I've never entered a craft contest of any sort, so it might be fun. Too bad my anniversary dolls were made completely out of other kinds of yarn. :)

My fiance and I celebrated our three-year anniversary this past weekend. I took a break to make my first non-RENT dolls, modeled after the two of us, as a gift to him:

We spend most of our time together in our PJs, so I figured it was the best representation. :)

New Year, New Blog

So I decided that, rather than flood the RENT LiveJournal community with posts about my crocheting endeavors, I should probably start a blog that I can just dedicate to my crafting madness. New year, new projects, new blog!

First of all, if you're reading this, thank you so much for even being interested in what I'm working on! Comments and questions are most welcome.

Right now I'm selling all of my dolls and patterns through my Etsy shop, so please take a look there if you're interested in buying. I finally have everything organized over there, so everything I have available is listed. Dolls that exist so far are: Collins, Angel, Roger and Mark.

It's very late (or early, depending on how you look at it), and I should have been asleep hours ago if I want to make it past midnight for New Year's, so I'll leave things at that for now. :)

Happy 2009!
